About Bihar Dekho

Bihar Dekho is an independent travel and culture platform created to present Bihar as it truly is — layered, historic, spiritual, and human.

Bihar has shaped India’s civilizational history through Buddhism, ancient universities, and deep cultural traditions. Yet for many travelers, Bihar remains misunderstood or unexplored.

Bihar Dekho exists to bridge that gap — between curiosity and confidence, between perception and reality.

Why We Exist

Over the years, Bihar has often been reduced to headlines and stereotypes. But those who travel slowly, speak to locals, and walk through its historic sites experience a very different Bihar. Bihar Dekho was created to document and share that lived reality — calmly, honestly, and without exaggeration. This platform is built for travelers who value depth over hype and understanding over assumptions.

About the Founder

Bihar Dekho is curated by Deepak Thakur, a Bihari currently based in Bangalore.

Growing up in Bihar and later living outside the state, Deepak often noticed a pattern — people were curious about Bihar’s history and culture, but hesitant to visit due to uncertainty and lack of reliable information.

Bihar Dekho began as a response to that gap.

The platform is not built as a commercial tourism venture, but as a long-term effort to present Bihar with honesty, dignity, and context — through well-researched guides, practical travel information, and cultural storytelling.

Deepak believes Bihar does not need to be “sold”; it needs to be understood.

What Bihar Dekho Is

  • An independent, non-government initiative
  • Focused on traveler confidence and clarity
  • Rooted in real experiences and research

What It Is Not

  • A booking or deal-based travel site
  • A promotional or paid-listing platform
  • A content farm chasing traffic

Looking Ahead

Bihar Dekho is designed as a long-term, evolving platform. Over time, it aims to expand coverage, include lesser-known places, collaborate with local voices, and become a trusted reference for anyone seeking to explore Bihar thoughtfully.
